Rajendra Ramoon Maharaj (August 10, 1972) is an Indo-Caribbean American theater director, playwright, producer and activist. He started Rebel Theater Company in 2003 in New York City, and is currently Producing Artistic Director of Rebel Theater Company. ==Theater Direction== As a director, Maharaj was very influenced by his Catholic and Indo-Caribbean upbringing,〔"(The Status of a Symbol )" By Nicole Estvanik in American Theater Magazine (Dec 2007)〕 and has made an imprint as a director of very diverse, social and political theater about American history.
